The Northern Group currently meet at Corporation Mill, Corporation Street, Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax. Meetings are held in the canteen and commence at 2.00pm. |
The Southern Group holds all-day meetings at the Cricket Field House Hotel, Wilton Road, Salisbury. www.cricketfieldhouse.co.uk Meetings commence at 10:30 and finish around 4.00pm. |

The Annual National Meeting will be held on Monday and Tuesday the 16th & 17th April 2012, at the Swan Hotel, Sadler Street, Wells, Somerset. Full details of this event have been published in the December issue of the Helvetia Newsletter. All those interested in attending please contact the Hon. Secretary on 01296 621159. The programme for Monday commences at 10.00am and includes a display by Bob Medland, entitled "Handstamp or Cancellation?: An explanation of the mysteries of Postmarks.". A buffet lunch will be followed by the Cup Competitions and an Auction. The day will be rounded off with a Society Dinner, to which all members and their partners are invited. The programme for Tuesday will commence at 10.00am with the Society's AGM, followed by Members Displays, with the meeting closing at approximately 1.00pm. Throughout this event, Werner Gattiker will be present with a large selection from his stock of Swiss stamps and postal history. Members Displays: Members are encouraged to display an unspecified number of pages. These can cover any subject (low key or specialised) which they would like to share with their friends. The historic Swan Hotel www.swanhotelwells.co.uk/ is situated directly opposite the Cathedral in the heart of England’s smallest cathedral city, and offers modern amenities, comfortable accommodation and award winning food. Parking is available on site. Arrangements can be made to meet members arriving at Bristol railway station. The Wells Museum and Visitor Centre, Wells Cathedral, the moated Bishop’s Palace and Vicars Close are all within walking distance. Within easy travelling distance are attractions such as Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge and Caves and Glastonbury Abbey and Tor. All in all, an ideal venue for a pleasant and relaxing break. |
